Karen Haywood, Editor

Karen is serving as the associate university registrar for communications, commencement, and curriculum at a North Carolina state institution, where she edits and publishes the Undergraduate Bulletin, commencement programs, registration guides, and many smaller publications, manages the registrar's Web site, extranet, and intranet, plans and oversees the University's commencement ceremonies, and maintains the curriculum database. Years prior, she edited and wrote university publications at Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a freelance editor and writer, working in fiction and nonfiction, doctoral dissertations, Web sites, consulting reports, RFPs, and grant proposals. Her first book, a reference book on the state of Georgia, was published in 2006 by Marshall Cavendish's Benchmark Books, for whom she has recently written two books on endangered animals and one on the human skeletal system. Haywood holds a B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. from Duke University.
Andrea Spencer, Copywriter

Andrea has advanced as a marketing professional over the past 10 years in higher education. She has served as a copywriter for a North Carolina state institution, developing the university's brand image and enhancing its top-of-mind recall among the corporate sector, alumni circles, and community groups as well as producing all of the messaging for the institution’s capital campaign.
Andrea's experience in account management for a variety of clients and industries enables her to elevate client needs and craft powerful, meaningful messages with compelling results. A graduate of High Point University with a B.A. in English, she has written for virtually every medium, including the Web, print ads, collateral, radio, press releases, newsletters, and direct mail.
Matt Nowicki, Designer and Art Director

Matt has over sixteen years experience as a conceptual graphic designer, Web designer and art director, creating exciting communications for the education, finance, healthcare and industrial sectors. Matt brings a creative energy and strategic focus to his design work that translates directly into measurable results for your higher education project.

With a bachelor of arts from Beloit College, majoring in fine arts, Matt brings an artist's eye to your program, creating stunning visual solutions that fulfill your needs.
Boni Russell, Graphic Designer

With over twenty years in the industry, Boni began as an artist and was quickly promoted to art director. This "start-to-finish" range of experience has provided her with a solid knowledge of the technical side of design. This exposure has also enhanced her natural artistic and creative abilities.
Boni's early and varied experience has provided her with strong creative skills and an exceptional ability to understand client needs. Her work reflects the close relationship that she forges with each of her clients. Each piece that she develops reflects her creativity, and the preferences of her clients. She prides herself in creating inspiring, high-impact pieces that influence her audiences and delight her clients.
Her specialties include logos, brand identities, collateral design and modest Web site development.
A 1988 graduate of Guilford Technical Community College, Boni holds an Associate's degree in advertising and design.
Wendy Wagner, Graphic Designer
Wendy has over fifteen years of experience as a visual communications professional. She has garnered design awards from Admissions Marketing Report, South Carolina Press Association, and CASE District III.
As a creative problem solver, Wagner can sense what clients need and works to produce innovative concepts that aid in achieving clients' desired results. One previous client reports, "Wendy listens to us. Some designers just want to do their own thing, but Wendy understands our mission and goes beyond the call to research and learn about what we're trying to do and who we are trying to attract, then designs publications that actually fulfill our goals."
Wagner taught visual communication design at Winthrop University in South Carolina from 2004 to 2007. Wagner has a B.A. in Mass Communication from Winthrop.
